90% DIY Systems are usually Installed by Feeney Brothers , as these systems do not include pre-charged line sets and require specialized tools and technical knowledge. Homeowners may install the system themselves if they feel capable; however, Feeney Brothers must perform the vacuum and line set charging in order for the manufacturer's warranty to be honored.

What's the difference?

People often ask us, "What is the difference between a standard mini split system and a premium mini split system?"

The best way to explain this is with a simple car comparison - something most people are familiar with when it comes to purchasing, servicing and repairing a vehicle.

Imagine one person buys a Mercedes and another buys a Chevy. Both vehicles get you from Point A to B. Both have steering, brakes, heating and air conditioning, and both require trained technicians for service and repairs. The Mercedes may offer additional refinements, but it also comes with a significantly higher price point and higher service and repair costs over its lifetime. This isn't to suggest that one choice is right or wrong. The point is simply that both options accomplish the same basic function, just at very different price points.

What is a Ductless Mini Split System?

Duct less Mini Split systems have a wall mounted indoor unit along with an outdoor condenser.

Single-Zone or Multizone heat pumps heat and cool your home. The outdoor condensers are connected to the indoor unit through a channel. You can heat or cool a single room or several areas in your home.

Wall unit:

Air handlers blow heat or cooled air in your room without ductwork.

Ceiling casing:

If installation space is limited, a ceiling cassette may be used.

How does a Mini Split heat pump work?

Mini Split heat pumps work to both heat and cool your home by removing heat from the indoor air using refrigerant to transfer it outside. As the temperature drops the heat pump reverses direction drawing heat from the outside condenser.
